路聽Session - Sessions are held weekly unless there is a holiday. A schedule of when sessions are held will be made available at the beginning of each series.
路聽Series - Series is the term used for a group of sessions. There are two series each year, from September through December and from January through June.
路聽Registration - Pre-registration has a discount price. Registration ends four weeks after a series begins..
路聽Admission age - Participants in the program must be four years or older by December 31 in order to be registered.
路聽Audit - Participants will not be permitted into a session for auditing without the approval from the Program Director and instructor.
路聽Withdrawal - Participants may withdraw at any time during a series. Program fee refunds are as follows:
路聽within two weeks after a series begins, refund 75% of program fees
路聽within four weeks after a series begins, refund 50% of program fees
路聽more than four weeks after a series begins, no refund
路聽the $50 registration fee is non-refundable
路聽Placement - New participants will be given a diagnostic test in order for staff to determine which session level they should be placed.
路聽Promotion - Participants should attend sessions on time and complete all assigned work. After passing all examinations, participants will be promoted to the next level.
路聽Repeat - If a participant's performance as shown by their grades do not meet the Center's criteria for promotion, he/she may either repeat the session or participate in a diagnostic test offered in the beginning of each series in which those who pass will be promoted to the next level.
路聽Skip - Participants possessing language abilities beyond their assigned session level may skip a level if recommended by their instructor and if the participant has passed all of the requirements.
路聽Attendance - Participants who will be absent from a session should notify the instructor or the Center in advance and make their own arrangement for assigned work.
路聽Books - At the beginning of each series the Center will provide books, work booklets, and two assigned work booklets for a nominal charge. There will be a $15 fee to replace any lost books or practice booklets.
路聽Progress Report - At the end of each series, participants will receive progress reports containing grades and comments from the instructors.
路聽Graduation criteria - There is a three year minimum enrollment requirement at the Center in order to graduate. Participants must also pass graduation exams and score a 600 or higher on the Chinese SAT conversation section. Upon graduation they will receive a certificate printed in both English and Chinese.
